The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) provides a first point of contact for veterans needing to connect with veteran service organizations, find employment, educational or VA resources.
Supporting DFW Local Veterans
Day Center Services
Our Day Center provides a safe space for homeless and reintegrating veterans to access basic necessities, including meals, showers, and laundry facilities. We also offer connections to housing resources and other critical support services to help veterans get back on their feet.
Employment Center Services
The Employment Center at VRC is your go-to place for career support. We assist veterans in matching their skills with employers in the community, offering resume building, interview preparation, and job placement services. Our goal is to help veterans secure meaningful employment and achieve financial stability.
In partnership with Dallas College, we provide a comprehensive Welding Training Program. This program is free for veterans and offers job skills training in a high-demand field, ensuring our veterans are well-equipped for successful careers.
We also offer Off Base Transition Training events to veterans to help you transition to the civilian workforce successfully.
Peer Support Services
Our Peer Support Services are designed to offer camaraderie and understanding. Veterans can connect with peers who have shared experiences, providing mutual support and guidance as they navigate their post-service lives.
Stop One: Veteran Suicide Prevention
We take veteran mental health seriously. The Stop One program focuses on suicide prevention, offering crisis intervention and connecting veterans to mental health resources. Our goal is to provide immediate support and long-term solutions to those in need.
Benefits Assessments
We facilitate connections to benefits assessments through the Texas Veterans Commission (a Texas state agency that advocates for veterans) and the Veteran Benefits Administration (a federal agency that helps veterans access benefits).
Our team assists veterans in understanding and accessing the benefits they are entitled to, ensuring they receive the support they deserve.
Addressing Homelessness
Addressing the needs of homeless veterans is at the core of our mission. We work with community referrals and a network of service providers to connect veterans with housing solutions, healthcare, and other essential services, helping you transition to a stable, self-sufficient, and fulfilling life.
At the Veterans Resource Center, we are committed to supporting veterans in need across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Whether you need immediate assistance or are looking to contribute to our mission, we welcome you to join our community and make a difference.
Veteran ID Required For Services
In order to ensure we only serve veterans, you must present a valid veteran ID in order to receive services. Our application process is simple, and we refer veterans to outside organizations along with providing services.
The VRC is a part of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Homeless Veterans Services of Dallas, Inc. If you have questions or need more information, please get in touch.
